Man Found Shot To Death During Welfare Check At Maryland Parking Lot: Police

Police in Prince George's County have identified the 38-year-old man who was found dead during a welfare check over the weekend.

Officers were called at around 10:10 p.m. on Sunday night to a parking lot in the 7700 block of Finns Lane in Lanham to conduct the welfare check, where they found New Carrollton resident Kamil Ahmed suffering from traumatic injuries after being shot.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are working to determine a motive or possible suspect as of Tuesday, Aug. 20.

The incident remains under investigation.
